Although all four cottages are delightfully romantic, it’s the bathroom that swung the pendulum of my favour-detector towards the Waterlily. Set in the shower wall of this delightful two-level floating cottage is a goldfish tank – filled with weed and tiddly-wee electric blue fish.....

.... Watery and nautical, this little cottage feels like a boat – lots of wood, an upstairs loft bed, and windows reminiscent of a ship’s bridge, through which one can look out onto the to-ing and fro-ing of sailboats, fishing boats, swans and geese. Binoculars are provided. All four cottages have their own distinct charms. The Netloft has a private Japanese soaker tub outside, and the Keeper’s Quarters has a large waterside deck. Over a bridge, the Northwest Room, with a four-poster log bed, has a slate and stone bathroom with double-head shower that makes showering like stepping into a waterfall. All have CD players, wood-burning fireplaces, private decks, and barbeques. On arrival at this tranquil place, fresh-baked goodies are waiting for you, and a scrumptious breakfast is delivered to your door with the morning paper. Which leaves you in peace to get on with the serious task of enjoying yourself. Bicycles and kayaks are available for guests. The Netloft is child-friendly, just enquire.
