If properties attended parties (and Stellenbosch was the venue), Rozendal Guest Farm would be the beautiful wallflower standing on the periphery, calm and serene, unaffected by the attention-seeking masses and uninterested in following the crowd. The farm operates on organic and bio-dynamic principles and produces award-winning vinegars which guests are invited to taste in their vinaigrier - where the creations are infused and barrelled... and which smells heavenly! If you wander away from the main manor house, where breakfast is served in a sunny room opening up onto dappled gardens, and head up the pebbled path by the bountiful veggie patch, from which fresh greens are picked daily for simple, light lunches, you’ll cross a cheerful running stream to find the 16 suites. Simply and elegantly appointed, each suite features vibrant artworks by contemporary African artists and a private patio taking advantage of the glorious vistas out across Table Mountain to the west and Simonsberg Mountains to the east. There's also a charming self-catered cottage with unthinkably lofty ceilings for families looking for a little more space and privacy. Rozendal Farm is ideally positioned. Turn right out of Omega Drive and within moments the delights of Stellenbosch can be explored. If you turn left you’ll soon be winding your way through the wooded ravines of the Jonkershoek Valley. After a day out and about you’ll head home to farmyard tweets and snorts, some meditation, and the promise of doing it all again tomorrow.
