Are the routes safe for solo travelers?

Yes, our routes are designed with safety in mind, offering options for different experience levels. Always follow our safety tips, stay on recommended paths, and check local conditions before setting out.

 

What’s the best time of year to embark on a road trip in South Africa?

South Africa offers year-round adventures, but the best time depends on your chosen route. For example, the Cape Winelands are stunning in spring (September-November), while the Garden Route is great during the summer (December-February).

Is it safe to drive in South Africa?

Generally, driving in South Africa is safe, especially on well-maintained routes like ours. We recommend sticking to daylight hours, staying on marked routes, and keeping your doors locked while driving.

Can I complete the routes with a regular car, or do I need a 4×4?

Most of our routes can be completed with a regular car, but certain paths may be better suited for a 4×4. We provide specific vehicle recommendations in each route guide.

 

How long should I plan for each route?

We recommend dedicating at least 3-7 days to fully enjoy each route, depending on your pace and the number of stops you wish to make.
