Theatre on the Bay

Pieter Toerien bought a disused cinema in Camps Bay in 1988 at a time when no-one was investing in South Africa and, having been the man who brought Marlene Dietrich to South Africa in the 60s, set about building the institution that is TotB. Here you’ll find a pretty much year-round a great mixture of light (but seriously professional) entertainment from comedy to farce, whodunnit to theatre, musical to dance and nearly all of it South African. You’ve not really made it as a performer until you’ve done TotB. Enjoy a meal or a drink beforehand at the bar and restaurant.
